TRUE ROMANCE 2/14/2012 @ The Hollywood Theatre

Our 2nd annual "Truly Romantic " Valentine's-- and  FdL's DEBUT at it's new home, The Hollywood Theater.

"If you gave me a million years to ponder, I would've never guessed that true romance and Detroit would ever go together."

Ah,Valentines Day and her overblown ideas about love-
Some feel chocolate and flowers are romantic.Others, champagne and violins.
Here at Fleur de Lethal we think romance is best served with red lipstick, kung fu movies, comic books,
honey bears,guns and telephone booths.
Something leads us to believe many of you do too....

Penned by Quentin Tarantino and Directed by Tony Scott TRUE ROMANCE stars
Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette as Clarence and Alabama Worley.
Our inimitable lovers are joined in this wickedly romantic piece of pop-pulp cinema by a dream ensemble cast that includes:Dennis Hopper,Gary Oldman,Christopher Walken and James Gandolfini ( to name a few )

Because we are Fleur de Lethal a mere movie is simply not enough for this heart-filled day,
SO, we invite you to dress as your favorite character from the film and win movie tickets, tattoos and other lovey dovey prizes..

Shake out your leopard print jacket, put on those baby blue wayfarers and turn up the Elvis.
The only way to tell your baby "You're so Cool" this Valentines Day
is to take 'em to (the) Hollywood for a little TRUE ROMANCE.

Wizard of Oz - ALl Ages "Sing Out!"

"Are you a good witch, or a bad witch?"
"I'm not a witch at all. I'm Dorothy Gale from Kansas."

Our holiday event now becomes tradition as we stage our 3rd annual interactive, all ages screening of The Wizard of Oz.
Though not a traditional "holiday movie" this film truly embraces the holiday spirit with a
classic story of friendship, adventure and the eternal truth that "there's no place like home"

Though dedicated to "the young at heart" this event is especially fun for the little ones because they are
allowed to sing, dance and interact with the film. Boo and hiss when the Wicked Witch arrives!
Blow bubbles to summon Glinda, It's all part of the fun!

Attendees are encouraged to bring their "Play a Long" props of a kazoo, lollipops, bubbles,
noisemakers
and a magic wand to join in with the movie.
If you forget,don't worry!
Glinda the Good Witch will have goodie bags for sale for $1.00 at the theater.
Costumes and fancy dress are encouraged and all dressed up guests can join Glinda, Dorothy
and The Wicked Witch of The West for a costume parade before the film.

Fleur de Lethal would like to thank the citizens of our magical city for another
great year- truly there is no place like OUR home.

FdL Presents : SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

32 years before we knew of "GTL"," DTF" and" T Shirt Time" on The Jersey Shore
Tony Manero and his buddies made their mark as the O.G.'s ( Original Guido's) of the club scene in NYC.

Too often Saturday Night Fever has been too often been dismissed as a " corny dance movie".

This snapshot of NYC circa 1977 goes far beyond the disco dance floor and explores racial stigmas, urban living, the sexual revolution, family dynamics and social mores set to an unforgettable soundtrack by The Brothers Gibb

Come cheer for and cry with Tony Manero as he struggles with his desire to break free of the pressures and expectations of the people around him and maybe, just maybe make something out of himself.

8/18: "Sing Out!" Grease 2

"That's the way it's gonna be and that's the way that I feel.
I want a whole lot more than the boy next door, I want hell on wheels."
- Cool Rider

Here at Fleur de Lethal we pride ourselves on our versatile taste that runs the spectrum of exceptional to downright questionable.
So far this year we have delighted audiences with cinema classics such as Funny Girl and Singin' In the Rain
and even accomplished the un-doable and pleased a few hipsters with True Romance and Purple Rain.

Now, in the interest of keeping it balanced, we swing the other direction and invite you to join us in a trip to Rydell High NOT for the tale of Danny and Sandy, but for the tale of Stephanie and Michael.

Yes indeed, Grease 2.

The 1982 "sequel" to the wildly successful Grease stars a Michelle Pfeiffer as bad girl Stephanie Zinone. The film was universally panned
when it was released and rightfully so. With only secondary cast members returning, implausible ( even for a musical) song and dance numbers
and blase acting it is hard to even consider this a sequel to the 1978 blockbuster.

However, in all it's cringe-worthy glory, it is hilarious. With songs like "Cool Rider", Reproduction", and "We're Gonna Score Tonight" ( a musical number set in a bowling alley)
and cameos by once great teen heart throbs Connie Francis and Tab Hunter- it somehow endears itself  transcending bad movie  to "guilty pleasure"

Come join Fleur de Lethal in singing, mocking and otherwise enjoying this little slice of wonderfully terrible film Thursday August 18th.

Check out Michelle Pfeiffer in all her bad gal glory performing "Cool Rider":
